WHAT IS MUSIC THERAPY?
Music Therapy is a holistic approach to healing and can be used to address social skills, communication, cognitive stimulation, physical goals, self-expression, and self-esteem.
Music therapy aims to promote cognitive stimulation, social interaction, verbal and non-verbal self-expression.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Music Therapy is used with a variety of populations and conditions; including seniors with Alzheimer’s and dementia, adults with depression, anxiety, PTSD, children with autism, developmental disabilities and mothers with infants.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A CLASS?
Participants are encouraged to interact positively with smiles, eye-contact, verbal or non-verbal dialogue. They participate in singing/vocalizing, clapping, playing instruments, gentle movement to music, following sequences verbally and visually cued by therapist and discussions.
