Debra studied piano privately for ten years, participating in recitals, concerts and the Peel Music Festival competitions. She was a ’School of the Performing Arts’ student at Mayfield Secondary and studied music at York University. She also began playing guitar at age 14 with a focus on classical, rock, alternative and folk… she has created songs, reads tab and likes rhythm guitar. She began teaching music full-time in 2011 and quickly built a solid reputation for being a thorough and highly reliable instructor who's students have experienced great success. Her students know how to read and interpret music both artistically and technically, they achieve excellent marks, often place at competitions, enter into talent shows in school, overcome old struggles, and some have even been asked by teachers to help other student’s in their school music classes! Debra instructs beginner piano to level 6 RCM and enjoys teaching ages 7 to senior adults. She also instructs beginner guitar and can prepare students for RCM level 1. Her main focus is classical but also incorporates popular music.

Valeria has been playing piano for 10 years. She has extensive experience and a diverse background in teaching at the Elementary level. She is passionate about Art and Music and has been teaching private Art and Music lessons for the past 5 years. Her philosophy as a teacher is to give every student the opportunity to reach his or her fullest potential. She believes that education should be approached in an innovative, positive, and a creative manner. “Art is essential, has countless benefits for our health and well being, and it brings people and ideas together.” She holds a bachelor of fine arts, a bachelor of professional studies in education and is a member of Ontario College of Teachers.

Steven is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter with 10 years of musical pedagogical experience, educating musicians from 4 years of age to 65 years of age. A Humber graduate of the Certificate In Commercial Jazz music and a current 4th year student of the Bachelor Of Music Program. Steven has played Guitar, Ukulele, Drums, Bass, Piano and Sung extensively in bands across all genres and has been involved in a wide range of ensembles and projects. Music spanning Pop, Funk, Reggae, Rock, Country, Jazz, Classical, Flamenco, World Music, Salsa, Bluegrass, Gospel, Heavy Metal and Experimental. Steven has received education from notable musicians and professors such as grammy award winning Larnell Lewis, grammy award winning Justin Grey and private tutelage from the incredible Toronto guitarists Nick Tateishi, Andrew Marzotto and Lucian Gray. Steven believes in always maintaining a positive and loving attitude with music and encouraging the discipline to be a thrill and long lasting passion. Steven maintains that he too will forever be a student with a deep passion in learning all there is to know about music, currently preparing for the RCM 10 exams in guitar.

Daniel is a passionate multi-instrumentalist and educator. He has been studying music since the age of four and has enjoyed playing and writing music for most of his life. Daniel specializes in jazz and improvisation but has a background in classical piano, completing up to Royal Conservatory grade 8. Daniel is also an alto and soprano saxophonist and composer. He can play many genres of music such as pop, rock, RnB and jazz. Daniel’s influences primarily consist of bebop saxophonists such as Vincent Herring and Cannonball Adderly. When not teaching, he is performing at staples of the Toronto music scene. Over the past few years, Daniel has been working towards his degree at Humber College and graduated from the program in 2021. During his time at Humber, Daniel was teaching privately and received several awards and scholarships for musicianship and leadership. Daniel strives to create a respectful environment where learning about music is a fun process, while still focusing on important and serious topics.

Sam is always surrounded by music. He’s taken the time to develop his skills and successfully fuse his passion with his career. As a performing/recording artist Sam can provide great one on one knowledge and practical advisory through many aspects of music, performance, production, showmanship, technical/theoretical, arranging, songwriting, voice acting, djing and music business. Throughout his training. Sam has also developed a wide array of musical prowess, exploring multiple genres in his lessons, Pop, Classic Rock, Jazz, Classical, Musical Theatre, RnB, and HipHop. Music is his passion and he strives to share it with the world. He is a vocal graduate of the Humber College Contemporary Music degree program, and has been training in the music fields of jazz, classical, and contemporary for over 10 years. Through his time at Humber, Sam has studied with various musicians, such as Greg Wells (Adele), Rik Emmett (Triumph), Ian Terry (Celine Dion) and Denzel Sinclaire (Diana Krall). Sam has also had the opportunity to work with London based producer/songwriter/programmer James Sanger (Madonna, U2, Phil Collins) and has rehearsed and worked with Toronto based Musician/Producer/Songwriter Alan Shiner (Pizza Pizza, Coca Cola, Mariah Carey and Drake). After acquiring his degree Sam quickly found that inspiring others to create and enrich their lives with music was as rewarding as being on stage and performing. He began teaching throughout Toronto at various academies and schools. Sam has been teaching private vocal, piano, guitar and songwriting classes through Etobicoke based academy Locomotion for about 3 years now, with future hopes of working with them to develop a music therapy program for students. He is also employed as an instructor at both Mississauga Fine Arts Academy and the Canada Music Academy where he teaches DJ and production lessons as well. Sam loves finding each students unique passion and catalyzing it, he’s really good at connecting in his lessons and tries to make each session as meaningful and developmental as the next one. Sam not only has 12 years of vocal performance to share, he’s been eclectically growing his musicianship throughout the years. Sam is trained in voice, piano/keyboards, guitar, production, songwriting, cajon, djing and voice acting. Growth is constantly apart of a musicians journey and Sam is a pure example of that. He always puts himself after others and makes sure the student leaves his lesson with not just knowledge but inspiration.

Natalia began her musical journey from an early age of six, when she started piano lessons. She was taught in a variety of learning environments, including private one-on-one lessons, group lessons, and in-studio lessons. She participated in choirs, school plays, recitals, and competitions. Her diverse background has allowed her to better cater to the needs of students that have various learning goals. Natalia has completed her RCM Level 10 practical and theory exams and is currently completing her history component. She is comfortable and familiar with the RCM curriculum and has experience helping students successfully complete RCM examinations. Throughout the years, she has gained musical knowledge in a variety of genres and eras, mainly classical and romantic, as well as some jazz. She enjoys finding joy in music in her daily life, and also encourages students to learn fun pieces alongside exam preparation. Natalia’s main goal as a teacher is to instil core musicianship skills into her student’s lives while helping them learn to appreciate the art of music.

Adina is an award-winning songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist who has been teaching music to children of all ages for over a decade. She uses a creativity-driven approach, placing equal emphasis on both theoretical knowledge and intuitive learning through movement, ear-training, and exploration. She graduated with honours from Humber College’s Bachelor of Music program in 2022, majoring in voice, and has also earned her RCM Level 9 in piano. With experience in a multitude of genres including folk, jazz, rock, pop, funk, country, classical and musical theatre, Adina brings versatility and enthusiasm to her lessons. Outside of teaching, she performs throughout the GTA and Muskoka, serves on the Mississauga Music Board of Directors, and has garnered over one million streams under her artist project, Adina V. She believes music and arts education offer a beautiful outlet for expression while fostering lifelong confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

Jason is a passionate drummer and percussionist with over 10 years of experience. Having studied under accomplished instructors in rock, jazz, and classical music, he brings a well-rounded musical background to every lesson. Jason is currently studying at Humber to refine his craft. With more than 4 years of teaching experience, Jason is dedicated to helping students of all ages and skill levels build confidence, creativity, and strong technical foundations. His lessons focus on rudiments, rhythms, and grooves while keeping learning engaging and enjoyable. Jason’s teaching philosophy is centered around the five pillars of musicianship: Time, Technique, Tone, Taste, and Touch. By emphasizing these core elements, he equips students with the tools they need to become well-rounded musicians.

Sarah is a musician at heart and has perfected her skill technically. Playing at RCM level 10. Her love for teaching has allowed her students to pick up a new skill and enjoy building thier musical skills. Her encouragement has allowed many of her previous students to stretch thier piano playing skill into both professional and leisure venues. Her fun demenier keeps the leasons fun and engaging. The focus of the lessons is not only technical. The developing of a love for music is key to picking up an instrument; her goal remains to cultivate that love. The skill will follow as the desire to engage in creating music.

Christopher is a passionate music teacher with 20 years of experience helping students grow as pianists and guitarists. He specializes in Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) piano instruction, preparing students for exams up to advanced levels, and has completed Grade 8 RCM Piano himself. Christopher has taught both piano and guitar abroad at Liceo de Cervantes, a private school in Barranquilla, Colombia. He studied flamenco guitar with Roger Scannura at York University. Alongside teaching, Christopher is a signed actor represented by SoHo Management in Toronto, which adds a unique performance-based approach to his lessons. His teaching style is student-focused, supportive, and creative, aiming to build strong technique while encouraging confidence, artistry, and a love of music.

Anna is a classically trained soprano and voice teacher with over 12 years of performance experience and more than six years of teaching experience. She holds a Master of Music in Opera from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Poland and a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. She has also earned her RCM Level 8 in piano. Anna has performed in opera productions and recitals across Canada and Europe and has appeared as a soloist with several orchestras. Anna’s teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every person has a unique voice waiting to be unlocked. She is passionate about helping singers of all levels build a strong technical foundation in a supportive and encouraging environment. Her teaching focuses on healthy, efficient vocal technique, freedom and ease in singing, and developing confidence as an artist. Anna teaches classical and musical theatre voice and offers audition, performance, and exam preparation.

Brandon is a University Educated musician, who has been performing, recording, and composing music for over ten years. He attended High School at St. Thomas Aquinas in Brampton Ontario, where he successfully completed his diploma through the schools Regional Arts Program in Instrumental Music. Primarily as a guitar student, Brandon also sung in the school’s competitive chamber choirs, and played saxophone in the school’s competitive big and jazz band ensembles. The groups toured around the U.S and Canada, competing against other high schools in each of the four years he attended the school. Upon receiving a scholarship to study Jazz Guitar at the University of Windsor, Brandon joined the school’s chamber choir in addition to studying under a number of Detroit based guitar professors. Since graduating, Brandon has performed hundreds of live performances in and around Ontario, with a number of cover and original bands. He has been writing and recording original material since 2009, and has had the pleasure of working with producers such as Gilby Clarke (Formerly of Guns n Roses) and Norwood Fisher of the band “Fishbone.” Currently, his band “Drop Top Alibi” is recording with five time Juno award winning producer / song writer, and original “Glass Tiger” drummer, Michael Hanson.

Naveen is a dedicated and passionate piano teacher with 18 years experience in piano study and a growing background in music education. Beginning at a young age, Naveen has achieved Level 10 certification with the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) and has developed a profound mastery of the instrument with a deep appreciation for its artistry. Naveen's academic pursuits include a year of formal music education at Western University, where he expanded his theoretical knowledge and refined his performance techniques. Currently, his main goal is to immerse himself in hands-on teaching experience in hopes to help nurture the next generation of pianists. Through teaching, Naveen aims to inspire passionate learners and foster within them a love for music. He hopes to draw on his extensive experience and training to provide a supportive and enriching educational environment. Demonstrating dedication to both his craft and students, Naveen’s goal is to encourage those who attend Locomotion Music to continue to develop their journey in music, increase musical confidence and ultimately enjoy their learning experience with him.

Walter Chan is a woodwind player, keyboardist, songwriter, composer, and educator. He studied classical piano, violin, and alto saxophone before earning a Bachelor of Jazz Performance from the University of Toronto Faculty of Music, where he studied under renowned educators including Kelly Jefferson, Tara Davidson, Andrew Downing, and Terry Promane. A recipient of the JazzFM 91.1 Scholarship, he performs with a variety of bands such as Next Perfect Day and Howl Rises specializing in Citypop and Anime Jazz. Besides being a performing musician, he is a passionate music educator and teaches children to adults from beginner classical music to jazz theory, and improvisation. Walter recently released the single If I Could Know under his Soul/Jazz/Pop co-artist project, Good Evening Jade, with singer-songwriter Jimmy Hsu. Stay tuned for more releases to come.

Born and raised in Brampton, Ontario, Alex has been an aspiring musician ever since he was 7 years old. Alex has been born and raised into music from the moment he received his first guitar, up to now where he has been playing for 7 years. Alex plays the guitar and drums, and plays many genres from Rock to pop, as well as soft acoustic and finger style. Alex has been a part of multiple bands, having played on many stages for 3 years. Alex has taught guitar lessons for a year and always strives to inspire and encourage any and everyone to get into the spirit of music. Alex graduated from the South West Fire Academy in 2022, in hopes to one day achieve his dream goal of becoming a firefighter, while also providing his community with the same passion he has for music. Alex believes that anyone can play an instrument, just like his favourite Disney Quote  “Anyone can cook, but only the fearless can be great”          - Gusteau (From the movie Ratatouille)

Rosie is a dedicated and hardworking music teacher with years of classical training and extensive experience in both performance and education. An instinctive, highly musical educator, they teach viola, guitar, piano, and voice in private and group settings. Rosie has taught students one-on-one in homes and studios, as well as led group classes for children, creating engaging and well-structured lessons tailored to each learner. They are known for their easy-going, supportive teaching style that helps students build confidence and skill. With a diverse performance background in theatre, ensemble, and live music, Rosie brings real-world musicianship into every lesson, inspiring students to grow technically while developing a genuine love for music.

Ryan brings over a decade of piano experience and nearly four years of dedicated teaching at various music schools. Having studied through RCM Level 8, he is well-versed in classical foundations and teaches students up to RCM Level 3–4. Ryan specializes in working with beginners and young children, thanks to his highly social, empathetic nature. His ability to connect with students of all temperaments — including those with special needs, attention challenges, or learning differences — allows him to tailor each lesson with care, patience, and insight. Ryan makes sure his students learn valuable things every session, and keeps every student on the right track. With a strong focus on professional technique, emotional expression, and developing the right mindset toward learning the piano, he helps students not only play well but grow confident and inspired at the piano. He understands how each student feels, what they need to learn, and how to bring out the best in them — musically and personally.

Rouddlie has been dancing for 11 years. She is trained in many forms of dance, including Dance Hall, Afro, Hip Hop and Contemporary. In high school she was the dance team captain where she successfully led her team to be chosen for the TDSB Creates Showcase for 2 years in a row. While dancing at school, she was also a part of RVG which is a dance group associated with her community center. With them, she performed in showcases such as STOMP and throwdown. Eventually Rouddlie became a dance coach and prepared other dancers for their showcases. She taught dance at many different elementary schools and even at her own high school, with the goal of showing her community more of what dancing has to offer. Her goal is to enable everyone to have greater access to dance.

Bennett is a passionate guitar educator with six years of experience, as well as a songwriter, band performer, and solo artist. He builds fun, engaging lessons tailored to each student’s unique musical taste across all styles and genres. Bennett strongly believes that having fun is the most important part of making music — when students enjoy what they’re playing, they stay motivated, improve faster, and develop a real connection to the instrument. His goal is to create a positive, relaxed environment where students feel inspired, confident, and excited to play. He is part of the Class of 2026 at Humber College, majoring in guitar, where he continues to refine his craft and deepen his understanding of performance, songwriting, and music education.

Alex Wang is a pianist and educator whose approach to teaching is shaped by a lifelong commitment to both artistic excellence and the long-term health and well-being of musicians. Drawing from his background as a performer, collaborator, and fitness enthusiast, he believes that technical development and musical expression should grow together, allowing students to build a confident, sustainable relationship with the piano. At the heart of Alex's teaching is the belief that every student possesses a unique artistic voice. While emphasizing strong pianistic fundamentals he simultaneously encourages students to discover and cultivate their own musical identity. His lessons are tailored to each individual, meeting students at a pace and level that allows them to feel both challenged and supported while fostering confidence, curiosity, and artistic growth. Alex also believes that meaningful music-making begins with understanding the student as a whole person and cultivating a trusting, nurturing teacher–student relationship. He values the experiences, interests, and challenges that students bring from outside the lesson room, recognizing that these aspects of life often become the richest sources of artistic inspiration. By fostering an encouraging and collaborative learning environment, he strives to help students develop not only technical proficiency, but also resilience, independence, and a lifelong love of music. Alex earned his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with Phillip Kawin and Daniel Epstein. He subsequently completed his Master of Music in Piano Performance at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under the guidance of Frank Peters.

Alana has competed from the age of 7, in dance competitions all over the United States and Canada.  She has trained in most dance disciplines and has had the opportunities of backup dancing for many artists such as Katy Perry, Bow Wow, Boomtang Boys and Neil Young, just to name a few. She has also been seen dancing for the NBA Toronto Raptors Dance Pak for 5 seasons as well as the Toronto Argonauts CFL Team for 2 seasons.  Aside from dancing, in her early pre-teens, Alana became serious about acting and singing. She had already been in numerous commercials, music videos, and attended a performing arts high school in Mississauga, Ontario majoring in dance, Right after high school, she studied musical theatre at the Randolph Academy of the Performing Arts College in Toronto. After graduation, she worked hard to build a name for herself in the industry and moved to NYC to further her education. Alana attended the New York Film Academy studying Broadcast Journalism and graduated as one of the top in her class.  Alana has been privileged to work on stage, film, television, and in commercials. She has been featured in commercials for McDonalds, Payless Shoes, Liberty Mutual, CTV’s “So You Think You Can Dance Canada” and has been seen in a running ad for NIKE. Alana landed her first principal acting role, playing the character of Maya in the MTV movie “MADE…The Movie”. After working on several other Film/TV sets, she soon landed her biggest role yet as a series regular on the CW hit TV series “Hellcats”, playing the character of Frankie, alongside TV/Movie star Ashley Tisdale best known from Disney’s High School Musical. Other select TV/Fim credits include the series “The L.A. Complex”, the 2013 movie remake of “Carrie”, and most recently the movie “Almost Pregnant” starring Amy Schumer.  Selected theatre credits and roles include, “Vagina Monologues” at the Jerry Orbach Theatre Off-Broadway in NYC, she starred as Taylor McKessie in the North American premiering cast of “High School Musical”, played Rusty in “footloose”, Consuela in “West side Story” , Charlaine Woodard in “Ain’t Misbehavin”, “Hair” and “Hairspray”, the musical “Bend It Like Beckham”, “Rock Of Ages” and completed a full season of shows at The Shaw Festival. US National Tours and Broadway Shows include “The Wizard Of Oz” and “Dirty Dancing”, “Motown - The Broadway Musical” and “Forever Motown”.  Alana just moved back to Canada from NYC in 2024 and has been teaching classes all over the GTA and Peel regions. It has been a privilege and dream for Alana to be able to perform and teach across Canada and the US doing what she loves, sharing the art of dance, music, and story telling with audiences and students from all walks of life.

I’m a singer and voice educator currently completing my Bachelor of Music at Humber College. I have completed RCM Level 8 and am a Kiwanis Music Festival winner, with performance experience including the Toronto Jazz Festival. I have been teaching since 2022 and am passionate about helping students develop healthy vocal technique, musicianship, confidence, and authentic artistic expression. I strive to create a supportive environment where every student can develop their unique voice and grow as a musician.

Rianna is a violin and vocal instructor with over 10 years of experience playing the violin and six years of teaching experience in both violin and vocal music. She has completed up to Level 7 of the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) program and enjoys helping students build strong musical foundations while developing confidence and a genuine love for music. Outside of teaching, Rianna is the lead vocalist of Throneway, a Catholic worship band that released its newest single earlier this year. She currently serves as a Youth Choir Director at her church and has also worked as a professional wedding musician for the past four years. Rianna has experience performing and teaching across many different genres of music and enjoys adapting lessons to each student's interests, goals, and learning style. She believes that learning music should be both structured and enjoyable and encourages students to explore music they are excited to play.
